Sparkling Water

Drinking expensive sparkling water has become popular, but is it healthier than tap water?  Most people know the benefits of water, so is the trend towards drinking sparkling or carbonated water products actually healthier? We know it's important to replenish fluids after a good workout. A study in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition found that the bubbles in a carbonated drink actually makes you drink less! It's important that you drink at least 3 ounces of water every 20 minutes while exercising.  For that reason, you may want to avoid carbonated water during workouts. In addition to that, a person should drink one-half ounce of water for each pound of their body weight every day. It's just easier to tank up on the regular variety than with some fancy sparkling brand. So, don't waste your money on designer water.  Drink a sports drink, fruit juice, or nature's champagne - good old H2O.
