Losing just two pounds can lower your cholesterol level! Losing seven can lower your blood pressure! When it comes to weight loss there aren't any tricks, just a few simple rules. As we all know, a person's weight will remain the same as long as caloric intake is the same as the body burns per day. The only guaranteed ways to lose weight and keep it off are diet and exercise!  There's another important rule: Don't lose that weight too fast!  The recommended amount for weight loss is a half a pound per week. Never lose more than two pounds per week!  It's a case of slow and steady winning the day, because slower weight loss is more likely to help you maintain your new weight for the long term. Additionally, when losing weight very quickly, you may be losing a lot more than fat. Chances are you'll also lose water weight and lean tissue, since it's hard to burn that many fat calories in a short period. Shed those unhealthy pounds -- but be sure to do it safely!
