UV Safety
Hot summer weather is a great incentive to get outside and enjoy summer sports, at the same time, we’re learning more all the time about the dangers of sun exposure. July is National UV Safety Month and we have a lot of information to share with you! Recent reports indicate that over 90 percent of all skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun. In fact, one severe sunburn in childhood doubles the chances of developing melanoma later in life. Don’t miss Peter's Principles radio program with the latest updates on eye and skin protection for you and your children during the summer months.
Joining Peter this week will be Kristal Phillips, Childrens Hospital Trauma and Injury Prevention Coordinator and Dr. Lorna Thomas, Dermatologist from Harper University Hospital. Additional guests include Dr. Elizabeth Yates, Optometrist from the Kresge Eye Institute and Dr. Michael Gray from The Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center and Skin Deep Spa.
This show airs Sunday, July 11th at 8 p.m. on WJR News/Talk 760 in Detroit.
