Take It Slow

You've all heard the fairy tale of the tortoise and the hare. When it comes to fitness which is the winner? For years medical science has convinced us that we need sweat dripping, heart pounding workouts to burn fat. However, recent research shows it's far better to go slow and long than short and fast. The body uses blood sugar as well as stored sugar as fuel for the first 20-minutes of aerobic exercise. After that the body switches over to stored fat as the preferred fuel source. So, to lose unwanted fat you have to exercise at least 45-to 60-minutes, at least 3 to 5 times a week. Slow and sure wins the race!
