Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration affects one and a quarter million Americans, mostly after age 65. The condition gradually worsens, robbing victims of their vision. You can start protecting your eyes against this debilitating condition and it's as easy as a spinach omelet! A recent study found that two nutrients present in eggs, spinach and other leafy green vegetables can help protect against macular degeneration. Researchers followed more than 4,500 people aged 60 to 80. Those who ate foods full of the nutrients lutein and zeaxanthin had a 35 percent less chance of developing macular degeneration. What a tasty way to save your sight!
